Steven Gerrard gave the Reds hope after heading in a John Arne Riise cross on 54 minutes before Milan goalkeeper Dida fumbled in Vladimir Smicers 25-yard strike two minutes later.The Reds comeback was complete just before the hour mark when Gennaro Gattuso fouled Gerrard in the box, which saw referee Manuel Mejuto Gonzalez point to the spot.Xabi Alonso stepped up and had his penalty saved by Dida, but smashed in the rebound.Liverpool had clawed back a three-goal deficit in just 14 second-half minutes to stun AC Milan.The game went to extra time when Dudek became an Anfield legend.The Polish goalkeeper excellently kept out Andriy Shevchenkos fierce header before somehow denying the strikers rebound just two yards from goal.His double save took the tie to penalties where Dudek saved spot-kicks from Pirlo and Shevchenko as Liverpool won the shootout 3-2 on one of the most dramatic nights in Champions League history.
