Alisson, the Liverpool goalkeeper, quickly restarted play with a free-kick, and the hosts had the ball in the back of Fulham’s net just moments later with Mohamed Salah finishing past Sergio Rico.While the immediate reaction was to criticise the officials for the decision to disallow Mitrovic’s goal, it appears the real rule-breaking occurred slightly later in the incident.When Alisson took the resultant free-kick to begin Liverpool’s counter attack the ball was allegedly still moving, which should have resulted in play being pulled back so the goalkeeper could retake the set piece.
