Leeds United and Bolton Wanderers have been charged by the Football Association for failing to control their players during Saturday’s clash at Elland Road.The Whites claimed victory against the second division strugglers, with Ezgjan Alioski netting the winner 20 minutes from time after Mark Beevers had earlier cancelled out Patrick Bamford’s opener.A touchline brawl began moments after Alioski’s goal, when Josh Magennis bundled the Leeds player over with a late shoulder barge.Players from both sides started to clash in front of the dugouts, with Phil Parkinson, the Bolton manager, sent off at the end of the brawl.Parkinson has been hit with a separate misconduct charge by the FA for his role in the incident. Both clubs and the Bolton manager have until 6pm on March 1 to respond to the charges, an FA spokesperson said.A statement read: “Leeds United and Bolton Wanderers have been charged following their EFL Championship fixture on Saturday [23 February 2019].“It is alleged that they failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during the 69th minute.The brawl resulted in Parkinson’s dismissal1

“In addition, Phil Parkinson has also been charged with misconduct in relation to his behaviour in the 69th minute. Both clubs and the Bolton manager have until 18:00 on 01 March 2019 to respond to the charge.”Leeds followed up their defeat of Bolton by losing to QPR on Tuesday evening. They now sit third in the Championship table, two points off leaders Norwich and behind second place Sheffield United on goal difference.
