Arsenal will not finish inside the Premier League’s top four as ‘its a straight fight between Chelsea and Manchester United’ for the final Champions League qualification spot, according to Graeme Souness.Souness, the former Liverpool and Scotland midfielder, insists only the Red Devils and the Blues can compete to finish fourth, with Arsenal out of the running.2

In his Sunday Times column, Souness writes: “Its a straight fight between Chelsea and Manchester United for fourth now, but Chelsea will be looking over their shoulders because United are dangerous and, right now, the momentum is there with them and they are on a roll.”United moved into the top four on Saturday afternoon with their defeat of Fulham, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made it 11 matches unbeaten since succeeding Jose Mourinho in the Old Trafford hot seat.His team are in truly incredible form, and with players such as Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford performing at the peak of their abilities, the Red Devils can defeat anyone. Chelsea can move back into fourth place on Sunday should they come away from their trip to the Etihad with either a draw or a win, while Arsenal currently sit down in sixth – one point behind United.Chelsea’s hopes of a top four finish rest heavily on Gonzalo Higuain, the forward, who signed on loan from Juventus during last month’s transfer window.2

He netted a brace on his home debut for Maurizio Sarri’s side, and Souness believes the Argentina international is the man to fire the Blues to more victories.“Chelsea will win more games with Higuain scoring goals for them,” Souness continued, “but we will have to wait and see if he can take them to fourth place.”
