Since returning to Napoli, the 26-year-old has found his feet in Italy and begun to rekindle his best form under boss Carlo Ancelotti this season, making seven appearances in all competitions.Arsenal are said to still be interested in Maksimovic as the club are looking at bringing in a new centre-back in January. But, according to Corriere dello Sport, a deal for the Serbia international could be difficult as Napoli are looking to extend his contract. Maksimovics current deal expires in the summer of 2021 and the San Paolo club are trying to extend that by at least 12 months. The Italian club are willing to give the defender a pay-rise as well, as they seek to reward Maksimovic for the excellent form he has displayed this term.
